How to Fix Push Notifications on 3.0
by lightmaster on Jul.04, 2009, under Guides, iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iTouch 1g, iTouch 2g
The Info:
A lot of people have been experiencing issues with push notifications and YouTube.app not working properly. Today, the iPhone Dev Team released the beta version of their fix for the issues. While the directions in the readme.txt are very easy to follow, the fix requires that you have a working and activated iPhone or iTouch. Most people who need to use this fix don’t have a second iPhone or iTouch to get the needed files from. So, to help everyone out, I’m writing my own guide and I will include the needed files. Hopefully, the Dev Team will releases the complete fix soon and the needed files will no longer be needed.

by lightmaster on Jun.22, 2009, under Guides, iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iTouch 1g, iTouch 2g
The Info:
Everyone loves how Apple has finally added push notifications to the iPhone/iTouch 3.0 OS. It took Apple forever to do it, but they finally did. Now the main thing that is missing is push email. How to Jailbreak/Unlock with Redsn0w on a Mac
by lightmaster on Jun.21, 2009, under Guides, iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iTouch 1g, iTouch 2g
The Info:
The other day the iPhone dev team released redsn0w version 0.7 for the Mac. Redsn0w is a program that was originally created to overcome the change in the iTouch 2g’s hardware that prevented the QuckPwn or PwnageTool from being able to jailbreak the iTouch 2g. The dev team has now taken this amazing tool and made it work on the iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iTouch 1g, and iTouch 2g and it can even unlock the iPhone 2G! They’ve also given it a GUI (previously, it was a command line only tool). Follow the direction below to jailbreak all four iDevices (the iPhone 3GS isn’t supported… Yet) and unlock the iPhone 2G.

Update iPhone/iTouch to Official 3.0
by lightmaster on Jun.16, 2009, under Guides, iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iTouch 1g, iTouch 2g
The Info:
Tomorrow, June 17, Apple will be releasing the newest version of the iPhone/iTouch OS to the public. This will be the official release of iPhone OS 3.0. The build number will be 7A341, which suggests that the version of the OS that will be released tomorrow is the exact same as the “GM” version that was seeded to iPhone developers a week ago. I will be posting links for the iPhone versions (the iPhone 3GS link is already up here) as well as keeping the download links for the GM seed. I’ll also be uploading the iTouch 1g and 2g 3.0 firmwares to my site so that iTouch owners will be able to update for free. Links to the pages are under the Downloads section in the menu. If you follow this guide and you have an iTouch, iTunes will ask you to purchase the 3.0 firmware for $9.99. Whether or not you purchase it is up to you, but I would suggest not wasting your money and just to wait for me to upload a copy of the firmware.

How to Make a Fullscreen Video Slideshow Background
by lightmaster on Jun.04, 2009, under Guides, iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iTouch 1g, iTouch 2g
The Info:
If you’ve ever tried to make a video background for your iPhone or iTouch, you already know its not too difficult, but its not easy. If you’ve used iMovie to make it, then you know that you can’t set a custom aspect ratio and that you will end up with a video for you background that takes up only a small part of the screen. This is because most screens, like TVs, are wider than they are tall. The iPhone in portrait mode, however, isn’t. Hopefully this guide will help you to make a video background that takes up the how iPhone screen in portrait mode.

by lightmaster on May.31, 2009, under Guides, iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iTouch 1g, iTouch 2g
The Info:
One of the most troublesome things about jailbreaking is putting your iPhone or iTouch into DFU mode. Apple designed DFU mode to be hard to access and they did a good job at that. Hopefully this guide will help you enter DFU mode with little trouble.
